i really want to play this.

Shadow: that's the one, yes. Bastard of a level that was, lost 6 lives there. Damned good fun though.

As long as it comes tomorrow i'll be a happy bunny, but i still think it's unlikely.

It will likely need a signature if its parcel force best make sure somebodies in.

In other bizarre shop to news, we all now shadows got his already, well mine has been dispatched and I only ordered it last night at 11pm yet still my cousin & my mates has not even been processed yet. :?

We could have another great pre-order scandal!!!
I've heard a similar thing happening to someone else who recently pre ordered with Shopto this last couple of days and getting it dispatched immediately. Quite worrying and no doubt frustrating for those that have had it pre ordered for months.

It's probably because with GAME you get the free Mario Galaxy tin so then it's a parcel - luckily for me someones always at home, don't want none of that going up the post office after tea to wait in a mile long queue.

Going back to the instructional dvd (you all post too quick for me!) - i think there should be an option for no help at all in game - HARDCORE mode! 8)

the help is optional. you don't have to let the game play for you, watch the video's, or look at the DVD. but it's nice that it's there. who knows if you may need it. judging by some reviews the game can be pretty brutal, though i doubt it's that bad. also, if it's like NSMBW watching some mario expert go through the levels is damn impressive.

it's just hit me; it's a day away. today is going to be the longest day ever!

Just did a load more levels, I can't believe how many little nods they've managed to put in from fast Mario games :D Hammer Bros, The Ghost House, Mario World inspired castle level designs etc. Its all so good!

The Prankster Comets are still in the game and really ramp up the difficulty on some of the levels - mainly due to speed runs or purple coin challenges. They are the toughest of the lot so far but are still really fun to do.

And I know I've mentioned it before but I really do like the fact Nintendo have put in far more 2D gameplay sections this time round. One level based around the Bee Suit is purely 2D and is one of my favourite levels of the game so far.

Just got mine today - nice of GAME to be as reliable as usual with their packaging.....they packed my nice tin case in a jiffy bag  Needless to say it had to be bent back into shape.
Can't play mine as yet though as it's also a b'day present for my kid :(

Got mine today through from GAME and Parcelforce, really nice tin that comes with it, wasn't expecting much for not paying any extra but it's actually really nice suprisingly!

Haven't got round to playing it yet though, gonna go up and put 3 hours worth of gaming in in about 10 minutes though for my Mario fix today.

64 stars down and only 1 little complaint so far - I still can't stand the Spring power up. Its still just as imprecise and painful to use as it was in the first game. Doesn't help that the level in question leaves no margin of error (either a bottomless pit or lava awaits you if you screw up just once).

well, turns out i have to be out by 9:30 tomorrow and won't be back until late afternoon. and no one's going to be in. i hope the dude just leaves it by the door like he has done in the past. (i take it i always have the same postie, i've never seen him/her/it.)

how you feel about the game on the whole, shadow?

Right well i've had a pretty extensive play through of this now (4 hours 21 minutes to be very precise).

And...well it's very good, and some of the innovation in some of the galaxies have astounded me....but, once again unfortunately i'm getting my strange "i'm getting bored with Mario even though i'm enjoying it thoroughly" feeling...

One example of the innovation is on this one galaxy where you have a 2d view and have to swim from a bubble of water to another stream/bubble of water without falling out of it into space as they're moving, i was literally like WHAT how the hell has no one thought of this before?!

I've never completed a Mario game so i'm determined i'm gonna complete this one, hopefully this feeling will go away over time.

Currently on 15 stars or so, so not very far in i would imagine...i'm not one of those people that are going to collect every star so am just going to go through the game getting the bare minimum until i reach the conclusion.

As a whole its easily the best platform game (and Mario game) I have ever played. All the different stages are completely different to each other so far, no repetition like the first game where they reused levels near the end. Hell each individual little planetoid you visit is somehow unique in its own certain way!
All the new power ups are excellent. Yoshi has finally been done right in 3D unlike Mario Sunshine and is actually used to a much greater capacity than he was used in NSMB Wii. Plus his whole tongue/eating mechanic is perfect for the Wii Remotes pointer. The Cloud power up is my next favourite as its used to great effect in all of the stages in features in.
Lastly it also has some cracking nods to previous Mario games, lots of returning enemies, some of which have never been seen in 3D Mario games before (Hammer Bros  ), the first Bowser Castle is still my favourite stage of the game so far.

And to top it off I find it really addictive, I'll think "just one more star" and still be playing it hours later!
