http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/ ... rives.aspx
Transformers: War For Cybertron was first unveiled in the pages of the January issue of Game Informer alongside a brief teaser trailer online. Today we got a hold of the full version of that trailer, which you can check out below. Take a look to discover some of the game's key characters and find out what they stand for in the endless conflict between Autobots and Decepticons.

If you finish watching the video and want more Transformers: War For Cybertron content, be sure to check out our hub page for the game for a full month's worth of features, character profiles, and videos.

I hope High Noon has plans to include Slipstream, Elita One, Devcon, Jetfire, Lord Straxus, Bonecrusher, Onslaught, and Chromia in the retail release.

Transformers Animated is about to begin its run in Japan and Sega called first dibs on a video game based on the TV show.

The genre may surprise you since this Transformers arcade game is a card game. Sega has a history of making collectable card games such as Dinosaur King, Mushi King, and Love and Berry. These arcade machines have players scan cards with barcodes which are used to power up attacks or in the case of Love and Berry accessorize.

Details on how the Transformers Animated game will use cards were not announced. Optimus Prime dress up, anyone? Machines are scheduled to appear in game centers this summer.

War for Cybertron maybe getting its own toy line.

http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/ ... -2010.aspx

Toy collectors will be happy to hear that Hasbro will likely release several toy figures connected to the upcoming Transformers: War for Cybertron video game.

If confirmed, the new line will include Autobots Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Drift, while the evil forces of the Decepticons get new Megatron and Soundwave toys. All five of the figures are in the Deluxe class, a size that has traditionally been sold for between $10 and $20 (usually $12.99). The image shown here is supposedly an unfinished prototype of the Optimus Prime figure. The news comes via a post at Transformers World 2005 that has since disappeared, and the image via seibertron.com.

For now, the information should be considered a likely, but unconfirmed rumor.

There may be more figures on the way. The new toy line would represent the first time that a full line of Transformers toys had been created for an exclusively video game project.

Are you a collector? Would you pick up figures connected to the new game?

I love the bits with Omega Supreme in the trailer. I really hope this turns out to be more of a TF Armada for the PS2 and not TF The Movie for the 360 style game (in other words, a good game!). It looks promising so far at very least.
