Final Fantasy Artist Yoshitaka Amano Mini-Documentary

https://vimeo.com/239761924

From designing characters to box illustrations, Amano-sensei has been among the first to turn Final Fantasy ideas into visuals, and has made a vital contribution to the series’ mythology and imagery.

Today we get to see a charming mini-documentary released by French publisher Mana Books, featuring an interesting look into Amano-sensei’s inspiration, ideas, and even his (rather messy) studio.

It’s definitely a great glimpse in the mind of an artist who remains mysterious for many, with public appearances and speeches being as rare as they get.

That sounds like just about the most generic game description in the world. Even the title sounds like it fell out of some JRPG name generator

The Generator probably threw out Tale of the Chosen but they decided to use something synonymous instead to make it less obvious.

Lost Sphear Launches for PS4, Switch and PC on January 23

Square Enix has unveiled the release date of the turn-based RPG Lost Sphear, the new creation of their Tokyo RPG Factory studio, which is responsible of I Am Setsuna. While the new game is not a sequel to Setsuna, it can be considered a spiritual successor, as it follows the same principles of presenting an adventure close in style to the most classic RPGs.

In a world that is disappearing to the destructive force of the ‘Lost,’ a young man named Kanata acquires the power of Memory, which is seen as the only thing that can give hope to the people. Kanata is joined by a group of friends in his quest, each with their own special abilities and combat style. For example, the priestess Sherra uses a traditional bow and healing magic, and the mysterious Obaro is able to throw powerful elemental spells. Players can also make use of a kind of mechanical armor that they can find around the world. It is called Vulcosuit and each collective part has its own skills that can be used in battle or while exploring.

Square Enix is offering those who preorder the game some extras like a dynamic theme and two music tracks for PS4, and a wallpaper and two music tracks for Steam. Additionally, a physical edition of the game for PS4 and Nintendo Switch will be available to purchase through Square Enix’s Online Store.

Sega Remastering Shining Resonance for PS4

Sega has unveiled today a remastered edition of its 2014 RPG Shining Resonance, coming to PS4 on March 29, 2018.

The game was originally released for PS3 in Japan, but never made it overseas, making this new version the perfect chance for the title to reach a worldwide audience.

Named Shining Resonance Refrain, the remaster will feature updated visuals, gameplay adjustments demanded by the fans over the years, and an alternative version of the story in the form of the ‘Refrain Mode,’ that will present brand new scenes.

All DLC of the original version will also be included, which means an extra 150 items such as costumes or music themes, in addition of other brand new created for the remaster.

Shining Resonance is the latest entry of the long-running Shining series, which is commonly considered Sega’s biggest RPG series along with Phantasy Star.

This game tells the story of the last dragon of the world and the friendship with a young girl who saves him from the Imperial Army and other enemies who seek to obtain his power.

Players can expect combats in real time and gorgeous art design by Tony Taka.

Koei Tecmo revealed that the newest installment to Gust’s Atelier RPG series, Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings will launch on March 27, 2018 in North America and March 30, 2018 in Europe for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam.

This release date is not far off from the December 18 Japanese launch date. With the gap between region releases closing in, fans of the series won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on the game.

Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings introduces Lydie and Suelle Marlen to the Atelier series, who will serve as this game’s protagonists. Both have different personalities that set them apart, but share a similar dream of moving away from their hometown to become Atelier Masters.

One day the pair come across a mysterious painting, as the title would suggest, and find themselves transported to its world. They discover a world where they can find hidden ingredients and new environments to better themselves at atelier magic and make themselves the best in the country.

Additionally, fans who wish to pre-order the game will gain access to bonus costume DLC inspired by alchemists Marie and Erie. This DLC set will also include useful alchemy ingredients along with additional battle-theme music. Also, if players pick a digital version of the game, they will receive two custom themes of PlayStation 4, available 4 weeks after the launch.
