Count me in - fatboyslick (if you're adding em please state you're from here)
I'm happily cack at wipeout but I don't care. Any ideas on playing times? Evenings can be a bit hard for me as the missus likes to watch tv. During the weekend is best.

Consider yourself added.
I think the best way to deal with times will be for the two players involved to arrange a suitable time to play each other. Even if its a best of 3 it shouldnt take more than 20 minutes.
We could say that round one matches need to be played within a week from date x and then the people playing each other decide when is best for them.
We can iron out the kinks later though when we get started.
The main thing is it isnt going to be too rigid, its over all purpose is to be fun so dont worry too much bout times etc as if you are struggling and it means waiting a couple of days until you can play then thats what we will do.

Yeah, not too bad on the whole. I have all Golds apart from one event up to and includng the fourth or fifth contest. Fourth I think. Its a time trial on Venita K but at Rapier speed. It keeps Rapiering me.
Problem is the track is really tight so if i put pilot assist on it bounces me from wall to wall and destroys all my speed, if I do it without I bounce me from wall to me and destroy all my speed.
Left it at bronze for now.
It is definately starting to get difficult. As for the Level 75 zone trophy! Pah! I tried just using the airbrakes the other day, I think one day somewhere in the future on a VERY lucky run I may reach lev 50 but I am not counting on it.
I need the twelve online race tournament thingy if you still do, let me know one day when you are on and gunna be staying for an hour and we can rip through it.

I was doing well on Gold medals until I opened up the third section and it went straight out of the window on the Zone levels and time trials.
I'm now just concentrating on getting a bronze on every level to get the game outta the way in time for pro/fifa 09.
I've done the 12 race tourny but still need 10 online wins. If you see me on it today give me a bell i'll do one - takes about 30mins.

Cool, if we do get on to it we can make sure you win 10 out of 12 and then both get a trophy

An they're off....
We have 9 entries so knock out from the beginning doesn't work. What I think will be a good idea is a league table format, one with 4 players and one with 5. The top 2 from each go through to play in semi's and then obviously a Grand Final.
Everyone plays everyone in their league once, in a best of three race format on random tracks at Rapier speed. Everyone will race on the same three tracks i.e. round one will be raced on track 1,2 and 3 by everyone. Round two on a different set etc.
Its one point for a win and 0 for a loss. In the event of a tie for second then knock out mathces shall be played.
The results of a match should be posted here by both players involved for verification purposes.
It is up to the players involved in the match to organise the best time to race each other. 3 races should take no more than 10 or 15 minutes realistically. Each round can run over a week so you can race whenever you want within that weeks period.
If for any reason you cant race during that week then notify me and arrangements will be made to sort the problem.
I am going to PM everyone who has nominated themselves directing them to this thread, please whack a post below if you are still interested and also to confirm that you are happy with the set up I have devised. Once there are another 8 posts I will draw the leagues and first matches.
May the games begin, and lets make em fun...

you can still count on me being in on this. you can also count on me being easy points as i'm pretty average on wipeout, but its still great and i even love it when i'm in last place (alot).
to get in touch if you get drawn against me best just check on psn as i'm online with fifa most nights. would be good if we could have a quick run down of how to setup a match in the game as i have no clue on these issues.

Depending on timescales I am in - I am off for a weeks holiday on the 20th returning on the 28th. If I'm here I will be in.

Not a problem, matches can be pre-played or delayed for holidays etc.
Ultimately as I have said I just want everyone to enjoy it so flexibility is key.
I will also add a guide to opening matches in the correct 'Tourney Format'

I can take part if you have an uneven amount of players.

Still in, although my shift pattern is mildly erratic at the moment so some patience may be needed.

Right count me in but can I request that whoever I'm drawn with organise the games - I aint got a clue how to nor the time to figure it out.
What speed is rapier by the way? Is that the fastest or slowest?
