Even worse, we're going to gang up on you Manhunt style...
The sequel is pretty repetitive, but I'd say the original had a genuine mix of missions and goals- from escorting the drunk Irish man (my favourite, god bless him), to chasing the pink rabbit. The shift from stealth to gun-play was always nicely done, as was the whole hunter-becomes-the-hunted part.
Unfortunately Manhunt 2 just whacks a gun in your hand very early on, surrounds you with dull enemies who went to the stormtrooper school of gun training, and then lets you stroll through levels blasting them. Disturbing it's not, unless in terms of a worrying lack of imagination.

So I got past the bit I was stuck on through boredom and furstration in RE4. Some weird guy with bit swords on his arms and you had to shoot bells or something... anyway I killed him. Right I thought, whats next.... oh yes.... more men in robes walking towards me very slowly. They did mix it up a little bit, this time they had wooden shields!!! Wonders never cease.

The weird guy with swords on his arms is blind and you shoot the bells to distract him because he hunts by sound, though you'd think he'd have a guide dog in this day and age.ScotsWahey wrote:So I got past the bit I was stuck on through boredom and furstration in RE4. If you kneecaps these guys they sometimes momenterally fall to their knees and if you're quick enough, you can run up to them and press the attack button which makes Leon forward suplex them into the floor, smashing their head open with a sickening crunch. WAY more satisfying than anything I ever did on Manhunt...ScotsWahey wrote:Right I thought, whats next.... oh yes.... more men in robes walking towards me very slowly. [quote]Rockstar is still celebrating its successful appeal to get Manhunt 2 classified – but the British Board of Film Classification has warned that it may go to the most powerful judiciary in the country to ensure the game never hits High Street shelves.
The Video Appeals Committee upheld Rockstar’s plea on Monday, with a majority of jurors supporting the controversial publisher’s case.
But at the time of going to press, the BBFC was yet to receive the report of the VAC proceedings – and told MCV that it could yet take the case to a judicial review if it finds anything it considers unlawful.
BBFC spokesperson Sue Clark said: “We need to see the judgement papers from the VAC case before we even consider giving Manhunt 2 a rating.
If we spot anything problematic, we may decide to take our case to the High Court as a judicial review, which would lead to Manhunt 2’s release being frozen in the UK.
“Our main concern is to ensure a lawful outcome. It needs to be the right decision within the UK’s legal framework – which will be the right decision in the public interest.â€

Nah, they just don't want to be shown to be wrong so they'll nitpick for anything they can find in the report which'll swing things in favour of their own decision so they don't look like the morons they currently do. If I sound angry in this message it's because I just watched Gremlins and the bit when Gizmo plays trumpet to the dog only to have his fun spoiled by the bullying bad mogwai has upset me somewhat.

The British Board of Film Classification has applied for a judicial review regarding the successful appeal made by Rockstar Games against the Manhunt 2 ban.
The Video Appeals Committee had previously overturned the BBFC's rejection of Manhunt 2, but now the Board is seeking to overturn that decision, as well as a suspension of the Committee's decision to grant the game a classification.
According to a statement released by the BBFC, the Board believes that if its original decision isn't allowed to stand there could be significant consequences on future classifications.
"The BBFC is contesting the VAC judgement because in the Board's view, it is based on an approach to harm which is an incorrect interpretation of the Video Recordings Act. The VAC judgement, if allowed to stand, would have fundamental implications with regard to all the Board’s decisions, including those turning upon questions of unacceptable levels of violence."
The statement also added that Manhunt 2 will not be classified until the outcome of the judicial review if the VAC's decision is suspended.
I do honestly think they're a bit nuts now. Manhunt 2- in the edited form- really isn't that bad at all, I can't really see where they're coming from.
Mind you, a friend of mine runs a video distribution company and he has some scurrilous tales about the a certain BBFC member and his prized stash of banned videos...

[quote]The British Board of Film Certification announced Friday that it has been granted permission to judicially review the decision by the Video Appeals Committee to overturn the Board's rejection of Manhunt 2.
The news follows Monday’s announcement that the BBFC was seeking a judicial review of the VAC's ruling, a move met with disappointment by the game's publisher Take-Two, and confirms that Manhunt 2 will definitely not see a UK release until the case is heard sometime in January.
