Bayonetta 2, Rime, The Witness, Halo 5 and No Man's Sky are going to do 2014 proud.

I hadn't even thought of the Japanese releases - i'll try to look into it and update soon. Think i've got most of the announced european releases there though. There's at least 25 games on that list i'm looking forward to, looking like a good first year for the console!

I wonder how many of those games will have PS3 counterparts. I'm still umming and arring about whether I need incrementally better graphics in my life. One minute I'm ready to spend and the next I can't see the point. When I play a game like Last of Us I still can't see how my eyes will detect any greater definition. I've just put Rayman legends on my WiiU and I am absolutely certain that my mincers will not be able to notice any refinement that a 'next gen' console will bring.

Having said that, a next gen exclusive like Elder scrolls online, is a different kettle of fish.
Is it on the Switch?

For The Last of Us they could implement some nice anti aliasing as the PS3 version was a bit bad in places, texture wise they could put some higher definition textures in etc. plus fix up the frame rate. I'd buy it, I loved The Last of Us but wouldn't say no to an enhanced next gen version. Its the same thing with Yakuza - the PS3 versions really needed better texturing an image detail (especially in 3 and 5) so if the PS4 gives Sega that I'll be happy, even if it otherwise looks like a upresed PS3 game.

For Rayman, I've no clue how Ubisoft will make it look better. Frame rate is already perfect and it already runs at 1080p on all platforms so I really can't see where they can go from here.

Don't misunderstand me. I know there will be graphical enhancements, I'm just not sure I'll notice them. I certainly didn't see any difference when I played some ps4 demos in the Asda, but it could be my eyes. I played knack after a session on Ratchet and Clank Nexus on the PS3, and to be honest, my heart sank a little at how bland it looked in comparison. I'm a gamer. I want a new console. But there's a feeling we're being played a little at the moment.

Have you seen Killzone or Battlefield 4 running on a decent TV at 1080p? As then I'd say there is a noticeable difference. On Knack, well its clean and sharp in terms of image quality but I can't say bar a couple of nice bits that its graphically amazing, R&C definitely has better character design and art direction in that respect (and I'd have loved Nexus to be a PS4 launch title, I still need to pick it up!)

Uh oh, I may still end up getting this... I'm still not quite sure why I want it (as I played the last gen versions to death) but I'd love to use the PS4 share features to the games advantage (recording my best runs on levels, challenges etc.).
Small details on what to expect from the next gen release:
http://www.explosion.com/51408/rayman-l ... -detailed/

So it'll look slightly nicer (if you can notice the small details) and the load times will be instant (which is good, but it wasn't that bad before).
