:| Capital one...feck off I get a card offer from them every 3 months.

New PlayStation Credit Card Coming Out

Sony’s bringing out a new PlayStation Credit Card which promises to reward you for your loyalty.

Conceived in conjunction with Capital One, the plastic will see you multiplying your Sony Rewards points by up to five times when you use it to purchase PlayStation Store content and other Sony products.

You’ll also get triple points when you use the credit card to pay off your mobile phone bill, and you’ll earn standard points on everyday items, too.

There are other perks, too: you’ll get a $50 PSN voucher when you activate your card and make your first purchase, and you’ll be credited half your PlayStation Plus membership fee when you renew upon spending $3,000 per annum. Moreover, you’ll be eligible for 10 per cent off services like PlayStation Now, PlayStation Vue, and PlayStation Music. So ultimately, this is looking like a good deal if you’re an engaged PlayStation fan.

For those of you that don’t know, Sony Rewards points can be used to claim all sorts of products, like PS4 games, accessories, and movies. You can find out more about the new PlayStation Credit Card through here : http://www.sonyrewards.com/en/gateway/? ... e=NIH44WZN

Just a note: this is only available in the United States for now.

PlayStation has lined up a concert at London’s famous Royal Albert Hall, where the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will play hits from various exclusive franchises, including Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, Uncharted, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, LittleBigPlanet, and Horizon: Zero Dawn.

The event – scheduled for 30th May, 2018 – promises to “take you on a musical journey from vast deserts and overgrown ruins to ancient artefacts and futuristic landscapes, celebrating some of the most memorable gaming music from the past 20 years”.

Sony's Bringing Back AIBO, Its Robot Dog

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJciRIZQTg4

The company claims that the new canine is capable of forming an “emotional bond with members of the household while providing them with love, affection, and the joy of nurturing and raising a companion”. It has multiple articulated points, and two OLED eyes. Even better, this pooch will run out of juice after a couple of hours, so rather than take it out on walks you just need to plug it into the wall.

Sony says that it will learn the behaviour of family members and gradually understand the layout of the environment it lives in. It’ll also be connected to the cloud, so that all Aibos contribute to the motorised mammal’s mastermind.

PlayStation Classic Syphon Filter Trademarked by Sony Interactive Entertainment

The trademark application, filed on November 8th, is an obvious hint to the successful franchise developed by Eidetic (now named SIE Bend Studio, and currently working on Days Gone) and debuted on the original PlayStation a whopping eighteen years ago, in 1999.

The third-person shooter series continued through five games until Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow for PS2 and PSP. After its release in 2007, it pretty much slipped into obscurity.

The Story of Kaz Hirai, Sony's Oddball CEO, Is Worth Reading

https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Trends ... CEO?page=1

Sony was a bruised behemoth when Kaz Hirai took the helm in 2012; the company is now on the verge of recording its best-ever financial performance since all the way back in 1998. The former PlayStation president has completely transformed the juggernaut’s fortunes, then – but what is the secret to his success? A brilliant new Nikkei article explores the backstory of Ridge Racer’s biggest fan.

Hirai, in essence, spent a lot of time between Japan and America growing up, making him what’s known as hen-Japa (“odd Japanese”) as opposed to jun-Japa (“pure Japanese”). This fusion of cultures has set him apart from his buttoned up peers, and helped him to analyse Sony’s business from a global point of view.

There’s a lot more in the Nikkei article, including his approach to management – he is calm and never loses his temper at work – and his personal style; Hirai, for example, wears jeans and sneakers in the office, as opposed to a three-piece suit. He is, by Japanese standards, apparently a bit of an oddball – but one who just so happens to have saved a sinking ship.

You may finally be able to change your PlayStation Network username next year.

The oft-requested feature, which has become a bit of running gag in recent years thanks to certain podcast segments, has been met mostly with silence from the platform holder.

But at PSX 2017 overnight, PlayStation chief Shawn Layden admitted that it’s in the works.

“The elves at the North Pole have been working on it,” he joked, adding that the feature is “more complex than you think”. However, despite the complications he shared a glimmer of hope for fans: “I hope we'll see events occur that you won't have to ask me that question next PlayStation Experience.” Seems like the plan is to roll this out next year, then – all being well.

:| meh, since I got rid of my secondary account this isn't an issue anymore.

Jet Set is one of those games that I’ve always wanted to love but could never get on with. It plays really badly.

Hover looks a bit rough, but hopefully it pulls through and is good
