Does the forum have many active
members or has everyone left for
the Ign's and Neogafs?

I'm not going anywhere. Can't stand
Ign and comments from little yank kids.

Some left for a private site run and paid for by former GTM forum users called MFG. Others I think just use Twitter now and the rest dropped off the face of the earth. From what I understand from another thread is this site may be shutdown due to the Future buyout of Imagine. If you don't like yanks I'm sure MFG is the place for you.

Have to admit, I'm half man and half Twitter these days, not sure I'd fancy joining another forum tbh.

Now you mention that I remember
getting an invite to that. It that more
active than GTM?

Regarding Ign it's not a yank thing
as such. It just ends up descending
into fan boy fights and insults.

Can't do Twitter Jax, don't get
it all really. Sounds like hard work.
A forum and fb will do for me.

I don't use it anymore for reasons, but yes it is more active then GTM. It also has a working search function and most everything is organized to OCD levels, so it's easy to find stuff. It also allows you to update your avatar photo ..... which is something that is broken on GTM.

I'm just going to use this site till it dies. Also, use Twitter ... sometimes, but not really a fan of the platform. It's very loud, very clicky, very much a popularity and pissing contest rolled into 140 characters or less.

I can't bring myself to leave this site until
it's over either. Then maybe MFG although
I'm picking up on it maybe being all abit clicky.

Imo, Twitter is the natural progression (and replacement of) the old style forums, only better as it acts as one massive joined forum.
It's a little bit of a pain with the character limit but it saves a lot of TL:DR
Plus you're able to chat with games industry people themselves :)
I know this sounds a bit social media promotional (which it is), I'd never say the same for the narcissistic Facebook.

I would say Reddit and Voat are the natural progression and replacement of forums. Twitter is better suited as a news reader.

True I guess. But I'd say there's more c*nts on Reddit.

Maiden fans get to play as Eddie in a new reality-spanning RPG
Legacy of the Beast lets Maiden fans play as the band's long-time mascot Eddie as he battles to save the cosmos across a host of different worlds themed around the myriad of places imagined by the band in their songs.

The game will allow players to assume Eddie's different forms inspired by his different appearances from Iron Maiden's back catalogue of album artwork battling enemies inspired by the same artwork like The Beast, The Wicker Man and The Axis General. Legacy of the Beast's soundtrack is also packed with Maiden's classic songs.

Legacy of the Beast is in development at Roudhouse Interactive in Vancouver with assistance from 50cc Games and Nodding Frog under the watchful guidance of Maiden's bassist and founding member Steve Harris,

“We've always wanted to make a quality Maiden mobile game as we think the combination of Eddie and the music is so well suited and it’s a great way to get our music out to a new audience,” said Harris. “When the opportunity arose to make a mobile game which our fans, along with hopefully a lot of the gaming community, can play pretty well anywhere in the world, and download for free at that, we jumped at it. The whole band visited Roadhouse while touring through Vancouver back in April and we were so impressed by the creativity, enthusiasm and passion of the team there. Visually, the worlds and character designs do us proud and the music just ties it all together.”

Legacy of the Beast is available to download for free now on the Apple App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch and the Google Play Store for Android tablets and smartphones.

Gotta be worth a play for free.
It's also a good way to get people to listen to the music, even if it's not a great game, it's a good advertising tool at least :)

I was quite surprised to find a Squirtle in my front room (using the AR view) , but later on the server was just showing as "busy" when I walked to the pub, so I'll never know what I'd have found down there.

Yes its free, but with inevitable IAPs.
