This is cool, I recently started trying to get into Torment but kind of bounced off because I really wanted a cloud save solution so I could play on my laptop as well as my desktop. On top of that you have to run all these command line patches to get the UI up to an acceptable level of detail and even then once you go past 720p the UI elements scale far too small. And when you run the UI patches the saves become incompatible with each other due to how progress is stored in the game or something, so this will be really cool to have. Especially now that GoG galaxy has cloud save support.

The little bit I played I really enjoyed the writing but fucked up early on and ended up aggroing all the enemies in the mortuary so it turned into a boring DnD dice roll game. As I understand this part of Planescape is shit, it's all about the talky bits.

Soulblight Reaches Alpha Stage in Development: Top-Down RPG Fans Rejoice

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDo4xmliHKk

For those unfamiliar, Soulblight takes place in a ‘wretched world’ hiding a dark and powerful secret. A well runs deep in the veins of this cracked landscape and only the bravest (or stupidest) of warriors seek its power. Machinery, mystical powers, and even tears in spacetime litter the road to the center of the anomaly.

Randomly generated loot, enemies, and traps await your conquest for the titular Soulblight. Being a roguelike, the difficulty will not be for the faint of heart. But the game is flexible: you can take the stealthy route and avoid head-on conflicts. Distance becomes a strategy for you to master while you track your foes and keep an eye on your depleting stamina.

The most interesting part of the game is the so-called taint system. As the devs explain:

“Instead of XP grinding, [Soulblight] introduces a unique Taint System. While traveling through the shattered reality of the Sanctuary, you will receive personality traits based on your choices. These will be the main source of your strength. To harness them, you will have to act accordingly. Becoming an alcoholic means that you will be rewarded for getting drunk, but from that point being sober might prove to be unbearable.”

Even though the game has reached the alpha stage there’s still a lot of work to do. The devs still need to add the extra polish that will make their game shine, especially with aspects like lighting and other design features. Because of this, no release date or price has been revealed for the title.

Co-operative wizardy shooting game, Nine Parchment, is to cast it’s way on to Nintendo Switch, alongside the previously announced PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions.

“We love Nintendo Switch!” said Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen in a rather over enthusiastic press release. “We’ve been ecstatic about the success of our roguelike action game Has-Been Heroes, and we love all the improvements made to the development environment, it’s a great platform!”

:| ok technically not an RPG but it looks a lot like most of them.

So, when I get Pillars of Eternity for PS4, I'm guessing, based on the feelings from last years vote, that it won't be eligible for my GOTY as its already been out for ages on the PC?
