I officially hate Sony.

But I love God of War so much...

I think it's time for that 'dicks **** assholes' speech from Team America.

I still think it'll sell in the short term- almost all consoles do. Selling at launch won't be an issue. What'll be interesting is where we are 12 months from now.

www.1337planet.net- small community. I mod there. It's basically a breakaway from the Cheatplanet forums which recently shut down. Offically they migrated to GamesRadar, but that place is so broken it's not worth it at the moment. I'm a mod there too, but I couldn't say that I post there, it's just ...

Guys, I'm willing to bet that if you lived in Japan and were actually familiar with the songs/artists/lyrics, you would think there were some absolute stinkers on the original. Lets face it, the original Ouendan was filled with some incredibly cheesy, ridiculous pop songs and crappy rock numbers- th...

Re:

I must say Edge is fairly good, if a little bit pretentious. Gamespot is good too, but I guess that doesn't count seeing as its online. Edge is good for information (they have a knack of getting things right I find), but the writing is so dull and neutral that it's really heavy reading. There's not...

I think what is really needed in the industry now is a slow down- games need to be cheaper and easier to make, so that small independent developers can once again start making games. Anyone can make a great film with a modest budget, and we need that in the games industry as well.

The N64 controller- truly revolutionary. It was to herald analogue control and eventually the first console force-feedback system. Just as important as anything the Wiimote will do, in my opinion.

Somehow I get the feeling this will 'generation' of machines will be something we haven't yet had in videogames- a sort of transitory period. I don't think the path forward lies in either the power of the PS3/360 or the pure subjective rather than technical innovation of the Wii, but somewhere inbet...

I think 2D platformers are better than 3D ones, but the thing is, I'm not sure they have anywhere new to go. It's a bit like the side-scrolling shooter- it's already been perfected, and you really can't take the genre any further.

But bear in mind that it's perfectly possible to make a film with no extravagent effects or CGI without making it look dated or behind the times. The same is not always true of games. You have to remember that the problem small developers are complaining about is not that they can't compete with the...
