Re: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

Yeah I definitely get what you mean although for me XC2's combat system is the pinnacle of JRPGs (of the very few that I've played) but yeah I definitely think this would benefit from the layers of strategy, variety of combos etc. that XC2 gave you for sure. But yeah, it's fun and it does the job fo...

Re: Darksiders 3 |OT| Fury road

I was rather hyped by the announcement of this way back when that I went back to play the Darksiders 2 remake on PC and it was hot garbage, I loved the first one too.

Re: The Nintendo Switch Thread

I’ve never been interested in one before because they were on 3DS but now this one is on Switch and looks fantastic I might be in.

Re: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

I do get what you mean in a way, I mean you do have the three combat styles and there’s not any new ones introduced throughout along with the lack of combos. So you’re left getting new skills which do change up your move set but not much else. But you know what, as shallow as it is it’s still damn f...

Re: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

You might be further along than I but I really don't see any Titanfall in this. If anything some stuff reminded me a bit of Metroid Prime 2 despite that game building its puzzles around different dimensions instead. Not going into big spoiler territory here though so let's leave it at that. Also yo...

Re: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

Reached Chapter 5 earlier, probably around 28 hours into it now. I'm really enjoying it, it has actually managed to take a step up in some regards, the plot has got a lot more intriguing and mysterious as it has gone on and has woven in some cool gameplay elements that let you play around with time ...

Re: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

God I hope so, Hummel’s been such a wet blanket so far. I’ve actually only used Sahad and Laxia until recently, even though I had Hummel in the party for awhile I never gave him a go for some reason, I think because he would replace Laxia and Laxia is Waifu no. 1. I gave Ricotta a go though and she ...

Re: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

I’ve put a whole lot more time into this since my last post, now up to about 16 hours in. I do like it an awful lot, a lot of the characters are cool - albeit rather one note - and I like the jolly little side quests that actually do something meaningful for morale and enable you to put a new piece...

Re: The Rant Thread

Like ok, I get it's a bit of a mean generalisation and not fair to begrudge England winning. England and London is my home away from home so vicariously I do want to see them win. But I can't agree with the attitude of "let English footy fans go a little mental" in the context of an emergency respo...

Re: The Rant Thread

The kind of nonsense the England fans were doing on the ambulance occasion was no different to an average night out in some shit hole around the country, you just don’t see anything about it, but trust me that kind of level of drunkenness and debauchery happens every single weekend up and down the c...

Re: Things Which Made You Happy Today

Seems like we've faced them twice since then: https://www.thesun.co.uk/world-cup-2018/6720542/england-vs-croatia-football-record-past-results-world-cup-head-to-head/ The Three Lions have met Croatia in five competitive games since the turn of the century. Of these, England have won three and lost t...

Re: The Nintendo Switch Thread

That's too early to call I think. Hard to know what this is yet beyond 16 bit nostalgia. Also GoW has won it already anyway. 8) Jason Schrier is talking about it on resetera I have all the characters and am about 20 hours in, and there's no over-arching story (yet?). It's eight different stories. T...

Re: Things Which Made You Happy Today

I'll jump around at both. Me love joy joy feelings 😀 I remember those days when I was younger in the 90's when we did alright at tournaments. Bars full of young peeps ready to lob beer everywhere if we won. I prefer pubs now where we drink our beer 😆 hopefully more drinking to be done 🤞🏻 YEAH BOI, ...
